What tools are needed to apply HVAC tape?

by | Oct 5, 2016 | Application, Foil & Film Tapes, HVAC Tape

Many HVAC tapes are pressure sensitive, which means pressure must be applied to ensure proper adhesion – delivering a permanent, lasting bond to the surface it is applied to.

Failure to apply proper pressure during application of the tape could result in tape failure, leading to air leaks and potential system contamination.

One of the most common tools for applying pressure is a squeegee, which is a hard plastic tool designed to apply proper pressure to tape during the application process. Installers should use a squeegee whenever possible in order to apply the right amount of pressure and ensure proper adhesion.
