Mission: HVAC 2016 – Challenge Ten: Mission Career

by | Dec 29, 2016 | Mission HVAC

We wanted to know: What are the most valuable lessons our students learned from their time in school and with the Mission program. And…what is in store for their bright futures? Read on to see what Derick shared with us.

Derick: Looking Back and Taking Steps Forward

Taking the time to reflect as the end of my time with Mission: HVAC is here, I have learned very knowledgeable information. This opportunity has helped me become a better student, HVAC technician, and person. Doing each mission and finding resources took time, but I have built business and even personal relationships because of this great opportunity. The missions helped me realize what it really takes to understand the knowledge needed to do the job the right and safe way.

I was fortunate enough to have a career in the HVAC trade when accomplishing the missions at hand. But finding this opportunity also took time and effort – especially to find a business willing to take a person with no experience and one who was still going to school to learn the trade.

I encourage any person looking into this field to act like a sponge – soak in as much knowledge as you can, ask questions so you know for future reference, and never give up no matter how hard it may seem.
